Meet Our Team

Reach Healthcare Services employs a talented group of nurses, therapists and experienced caregivers who are highly trained in delivering every form of home healthcare.  This caring group of individuals are compassionately serving our patients' needs, either in the office by coordinating care with physicians' offices, politely providing health care solutions over the phone, or visiting patients' homes to administer quality care in an amicable way. 

Theresa Bohannon-Gerke, RN

Executive Administrator



It is through the passion of caring for others with integrity, reliability and compassion that Reach Healthcare Services was established.

 

 

 

Theresa (Terri) Bohannon-Gerke has over 37 years of experience as an owner/operator of high acuity home healthcare companies. She received her Registered Nursing License in 1980 and shortly after began working in hospitals in the pediatric unit. She realized that the healthcare industry was missing something; a reliable company that was able to care for medically fragile and technology dependent patients. This thought is what lead Terri to start her own home health care agency in 1982, specializing in providing acute care in the home environment. A true entrepreneur, Terri and her business colleague, Bonnie Smith, have worked together for 30 years to establish and develop home infusion services, Respiratory/DME/ventilator specialties, and pediatric therapy clinics, in addition to the skilled home health, private duty, and caregiver services that are at the heart of the company you know today.  Throughout the many changes, Reach Healthcare Services continues to embody and display their core values, providing outstanding care to their patients and their family members with integrity, reliability, and compassion.

Bonnie Smith, BSN, RN

VP of Sales & Marketing

 



Bonnie Smith graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston in 1980. Shortly after realizing her passion for patient care in both hospital and home settings, Bonnie found she had a talent for clinical program development and management. She established home Post Surgical and Rehabilitation programs, which were progressive in meeting high acuity healthcare needs, post hospitalization. In order to better establish the programs, Bonnie became engrossed with informing physicians, case managers, other healthcare professionals and patients/families about the post hospital care options available. This resulted in her true passion of improving patients' quality of life. She has over 30 years experience in home healthcare marketing and business development. Bonnie Smith and business colleague, Terri Bohannon-Gerke, have worked together for 30 years. They continue to advocate for dependable, compassionate care to help patients maintain independence in their home, embracing customer service above all else. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys spending time with her family, playing golf, gardening and almost any outdoor activity.


 

Julie Abney, BA
Director of Operations



As head of Operations at Reach, Julie Abney is dedicated to promoting the company's core values of providing dependable, efficient and compassionate care to our patients and their families. Julie has over 27 years of experience in business management and human resources and has been with Reach Healthcare services since 1997. Julie has a Bachelor in Business Management from Texas A&M University and her experience and knowledge have been instrumental to our company. As Director of Operations, she has gracefully taken on the role of helping direct our day to day operations, which range from employee and customer relations to managing the company's financial performance. As a valuable member of our team, Julie knows how to handle any situation that comes her way, and we are grateful for her commitment to Reach Healthcare. Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and giving back to the community by volunteering and participating in city events.

 

Lily Esparza, BSN, RN, CHHCM

Director of Clinical Services

 

Serving my patients and their families as they recover at home or settle in to a chronic diagnosis has taught me life lessons and fuels my desire to advocate for them in every way possible. 
 

 

 

 

Hiliana Esparza-Miller, Lily, is our Director of Clinical Services for all skilled care provided by Reach Healthcare Services. Lily had the honor of serving our country in the United States Marine Corps and has taken care of patients ranging from a 28 week premature baby to a 102 year old gentleman. She has experience working in hospitals as a floor nurse, specialty in-home infusion nurse, and has directed clinical care for a multi-million dollar home healthcare agency. She chose the nursing profession after her tour of duty due to a need to provide for her family. Lily, however, has stated how her profession has rewarded her in more profound ways than just monetary. She enjoys serving her patients and advocating for them to ensure they receive the superior care that they deserve. Lily joined our team in 2014 and continues to grow as a respected, cherished employee and educated nurse.

Rosanne Jones, BSN, RN, CHHCM

Registered Nurse Case Manager

 


I chose Reach because this is a company that has positive core values that line up with my own. I enjoy caring for those who are in need and getting to know them to improve their healthcare experience.
 


Rosanne Jones is our Office Case Manager at Reach Healthcare Services. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1985. Rosanne started her nursing journey in Oregon, then followed her heart to Washington and is now serving the residents here in Houston, Texas. She obtained her Certification as a Home Health Case Manager (CHHCM) through Fazzi in 2019. To this day, she still holds a nursing license in Washington and Montana, along with her license in Texas. Since Rosanne can remember, she always wanted to be a nurse. She enjoys getting to know her patients and being able to assist them with their medical needs. Rosanne’s nursing experience ranges from being a nurse in a large hospital to a field nurse for home health. She also has experience in home health as an Administrator, Clinical Supervisor, Multilevel Department Director, and Program Creator/Director. She previously sat on the Board of Assisted Living Facilities in Oregon and enjoys giving back to her community in any way she can. When Rosanne is not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends at the movie theater or out for a nice meal. At home, you would find her spending time on her latest crafting project: sewing, knitting, needlepoint, cross stitch, floral arranging, and ceramics, just to name a few.

Kelli Jones, BSN, RN

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Case Manager


Growing up with a chronic condition, nurses have always been a part of my life. One nurse stood out to me, even put her job on the line for me. If I can make even one patient feel as safe and cared for as she did for me, then I know I have served the purpose God put me here for.
 


Kelli Jones graduated from Truman State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Health. She then continued her journey to graduate from University of Texas Houston Medical Branch in 2012 with her Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN). Before nursing, Kelli was a customer service representative for Delta Air Lines and was an Executive Assistant store Manager for Walgreens. She has used her previous knowledge and experience in customer service and management to better serve her patients in the healthcare industry. Kelli has a nursing background in NICU at a large hospital in the Houston area. She made the decision to move to home health and work for Reach Healthcare Services because she was looking to broaden her horizons and experience a different side of the healthcare industry. Reach was the right fit for her with her attention to customer relations and compassion for patients. Those who know Kelli knows that she loves her cats and family! When she is not working, you can find Kelli traveling, reading, solving puzzles and shopping.

Sara McConathy, COTA, MHA

Director of Private Duty Services

 

 

Sara McConathy is our Director of Private Duty Services.. Sara grew up in Baytown, TX and moved to Houston in 2000. Sara received her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation from Stephen F. Austin in 1998 and shortly after obtained her license as a COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant). She worked at M.D. Anderson for 6 years utilizing her COTA licensure and people skills to assist cancer patients at the hospital. She also has a background working with pediatric and geriatric patients in both home health and outpatient therapy environments. After working as a COTA for several years, Sara realized that she really enjoyed the management side of the business and decided to get her Masters in Health Care Administration from Texas Woman's University, graduating in 2007. "I like problem solving and being able to help show others the 'big picture' in order to accomplish common goals. With management, I am able to teach others and assist them in honing in their skills for their specific position/role." She has maintained her COTA license and treats patients on a PRN basis in order to keep up her therapy skills. When Sara is not at work, you will most likely find her enjoying the outdoors at a local festival or nearby park. She enjoys traveling the world with family and friends.

Jenny Borchers

Senior Account Executive

 

 

 

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Jenny Borchers moved to Houston 27 years ago for a career opportunity in the Life Insurance and Financial  Services field. After many years of assisting clients with their insurance needs and questions, the transition to the work of Home Healthcare was a natural progression. When Jenny was asked why her work is meaningful she shared that "It is rewarding to know that our patients and clients are receiving both the skilled and personal care they need in order to maintain their independence and be where they feel the most comfortable". Jenny is a graduate of Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree.


 

Christina Sanchez

Christina Sanchez has worked in the home healthcare industry since 2004 and started with Reach Healthcare Services in 2012. Christina has held many positions with Reach, from processing referrals and scheduling nurses for our Licensed and Certified Home Health Division, to scheduling and payroll for our Caregiver and Private Duty Nursing Division. Currently Christina is our intake coordinator and handles all referrals that come in from case managers and physician offices. Her compassion and empathy for our patients, their families, and our referral sources show every day as she continues to provide outstanding service.

Ian Hess

Intake Coordinator

 

Ian Hess is our Intake Coordinator for the Licensed and Certified Home Healthcare Division. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition in 2018. Born in Independence, Missouri but raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Ian knew that he wanted to help people in the healthcare industry from a young age. After receiving his degree, Ian wanted to work for a healthcare company post-graduation. He enjoys working with the intake department at Reach Healthcare Services because he gets to assist the case managers and their patients with being able to schedule and ensure a smooth transition home to continue with the healing process. Eventually, Ian would like to go back to school to become a Registered Nurse to better assist the geriatric community with their healthcare needs. In his free time, you can find him hiking the local trails with his dog Annie, attending a concert with friends, and playing volleyball.

Christy Dobson

Private Duty Care Manager



One of the reasons I love Reach Healthcare Services is the fact that I am recognized. I have the opportunity to know the CEO and Executive Director of the company, and they know me by name. 

 



Christy Dobson has been in home healthcare for 20 plus years and she has been with Reach Healthcare Services since 2000. She has held multiple positions with our company including Intake Coordinator, Manager of Caregiver Services, and Scheduler of home healthcare staff. She currently is our Private Duty Care Manager. Christy enjoys working for Reach Healthcare Services because she likes the people that she works with, including the outstanding nurses and other field staff. Christy has become an integral part of our agency and assists us with staying organized and focused on the common goal. She is a multi-tasker and adapts to changes flawlessly. She cares deeply for our patients, as well as our staff. Over the years she has grown with the company and is an incredible resource. Christy is dedicated, dependable, adaptable and invaluable.
